Peace with Imperfection

Well I told you I would be back, and here I am! :) Are you a perfectionist? Well the second thing Dr. Carlson talks to us about is making peace with our imperfections. Here are a few things he said:

"I've yet to meet an absolute perfectionist whose life was filled with inner peace. The need for perfection and the desire for inner tranquility conflict with each other. Whenever we are attached to having something a certain way, better than it already is, we are, almost by definition, engaged in a losing battle. Rather than being content and grateful for what we have, we are focused on what's wrong with something and our need to fix it. When we are zeroed in on what's wrong, it implies that we are dissatisfied discontent...." He continues on and says: "The solution here is to catch yourself when you fall into your habit of insisting that things should be other than they are. Gently remind yourself that life is okay the way it is, right now. In the absence of your judgment, everything would be fine. As you begin to eliminate your need for perfection in all areas of your life, you'll begin to discover the perfection in life itself."

Sooo do you think you have the capacity to comprehend what he is talking about? Do you think you will be able to have peace while you are still imperfect? Can you admit it? Try to find some time to think this through, I would love to hear your thoughts....Let me know! :)

Small Stuff

Hello all! It has been way to long for this, but I am back. Just to catch you up: I have completed my assignment with the government and I am now self-employed with Infoition News Services. I am excited about this venture and look forward to working very hard at the business. As I was rearranging some stuff in a little room in my house I came across a book that I had read before and decided to just jump through the pages a bit. Well I stopped on Chapter 1. This book helped shape some of my views on life and as a result I have found that I can be more relax than I used to be. Wanna know what book I am talking about??? hmmm???

"Don't Sweat the small stuff...!" -- cause its all small stuff. Chapter one is just about that. What is small stuff? People driving up fast behind you flashing their lights so they can get on? The people at the electronic kyosis that have no clue how to use them? That off the wall comment by your friends? Those small group members who just can't show up on time? Yup, its all small stuff in the big scheme of things. Dr. Carlson in chapter one says this: "Often we allow ourselves to get all worked up about things that, upon closer examination, aren't really that big a deal. We focus on little problems and concerns and blow them way out of proportion.... SO many people spend so much of their life energy, "sweating the small stuff" that they completely lose touch with the MAGIC and BEAUTY of life. When you commit to working toward this goal you will find that you will have far more energy to be kinder and gentler (those are by the way fruits of the Spirit. Gal 5:22)

"Whats that got to do with me?!" you might ask? Everything, it is my desire that you will become more and more improved, polished, and successful in every endeavor you set your heart to. Thanks for reading and I will be back soon with more....
